Dental Veneers and Tooth Crowns

No longer will you have to suffer from misshapen, discolored, chipped, or crooked teeth. At Pure Dental Arts, we can make over your smile with porcelain veneers, fix a chipped tooth with resin bonding or beautiful lifelike crowns, or provide many other cosmetic dental procedures.

Porcelain veneers are crafted from thin shells of porcelain that are bonded to the front of teeth to enhance their appearance. Veneers are highly realistic and one of the most transformative treatments offered in a smile makeover.

Veneers do a remarkable job of enhancing the appearance of teeth with noticeable gaps, chips, craze lines, or discoloration. They are also perfect for patients with dental stains that cannot be treated with professional teeth whitening. Even people with crooked or deformed teeth can attain a “Hollywood smile” with porcelain veneers.

The process of getting dental veneers is fairly straightforward. During your first appointment we will determine whether you are a viable candidate for porcelain veneers. Before the procedure is started, a local anesthetic is applied to the areas around the teeth. We then shave off a small amount of tooth enamel to compensate for the added thickness of the veneers. We then take a mold of your teeth and send it to the lab. Before you leave, temporary composite veneers will be adhered to your teeth. On your follow-up appointment, we will then bond your final porcelain veneers

Extensive or Simple Makeovers

Although the procedures needed for each patient vary, smile makeovers often include whitening, and restorative treatments like veneers or crowns. We will work within the parameters of your time and budget . Sometimes your new smile can be created in one visit to our office. And if you consider yourself even a little “afraid of the dental chair,” we offer sedation dentistry. Financing is available.

Composite Bonding

One of the most cost-effective ways to correct fractured, crooked, or stained teeth is through the use of composite bonding. With composite bonding, layers of tooth-colored resin are applied to the surface of your tooth. These layers help recreate the opalescence of natural teeth.

Composite bonding can be used to improve the appearance of stained, crooked, fractured, or otherwise unsightly teeth.

Invisalign®

Invisalign uses metal-free, invisible retainers (called aligners) to move and straighten your teeth. Read more about it here.

Patients can use clear aligners to permanently straighten their teeth without having to wear unsightly bracket-and-wire braces. Invisalign® clear aligners, when used in conjunction with tooth whitening, can assist you in achieving that “red carpet smile.”

Sometimes orthodontics may be necessary to correct a misaligned bite before moving onto other cosmetic imperfections. If crooked or misaligned teeth are not addressed, it can lead to failures and other complications down the road. For example, we may recommend orthodontics to correct your bite before we place veneers on your front teeth. Otherwise, the porcelain veneers may not be able to support the force of a natural bite and may prematurely fracture.

Cosmetic Tooth Bonding

Cosmetic tooth bonding is a fast, less-expensive way to repair cracked or broken teeth, whiten discolored teeth, alter a tooth’s shape, fill in “diastemas” (or spaces between teeth), cover an exposed root area, or serve as a cavity filling. Cosmetic tooth bonding involves applying a tooth-colored resin material to the teeth in question, and then using a curing light to harden and mechanically bond the resin to the tooth.

Teeth Whitening with Opalescence Boost™

Often times, the simplest approach to improving the appearance of your smile is to whiten your teeth. On average, professional teeth whitening with Opalescence Boost™ can get your teeth up to 8 shades whiter in just one visit!

Pure Dental Arts offers chair-side professional whitening as well as take-home kits so you can maintain the brilliance of your smile in your spare time. If you are having crowns, implants, or veneers placed, we recommend teeth whitening beforehand since porcelain-based crowns and veneers cannot be whitened once they are applied.

Odontoplasty (Tooth Shaping)

An Odontoplasty procedure is an easy way to improve your smile painlessly in 1 to 2 visits. We reshape chipped, cracked, and irregularly shaped teeth to achieve a more-ideal shape. Of course, there is a limit to how much we can reshape, since this involves removing very small amounts of tooth structure, but an odontoplasty is a very good procedure for minor alterations.

Dental Implants

Nothing diminishes a smile quite like missing teeth. With dental implants, we can replace missing teeth and restore the feel and function of natural teeth. Dental implant procedures use a titanium post that is surgically implanted into the jawbone, where it becomes fused to the natural bone tissue. After several months of healing, you then return for an abutment and crown (or bridge) to be placed. Once the procedure is complete, your implant-supported restorations are indistinguishable from natural teeth.

With treatments such as All-on-4®, a full arch of teeth can be replaced with as few as four dental implants.

Aftercare is an important part of having dental implants. You will need to be diligent about your oral hygiene to clean plaque and prevent peri-implantitis (an uncommon, but treatable bacterial infection around the implant that can cause the implant to fail). Regular checkups with your dentist are an important part of ensuring the areas around the implant remain healthy.

Full Dentures/Partial Dentures

Dentures are another effective way to fill in gaps in your smile caused by missing teeth. They can replace one or several teeth (partial denture), or they can replace all your teeth (complete dentures). Dentures can help improve your chewing, help support your facial muscles, improve speech, and stabilize surrounding teeth.

Bridges and Crowns

If you have missing or damaged teeth, one of the first stages toward revitalizing your smile will be to address these issues. Bridges are frequently used to repair one or more missing teeth. Bridges are made up of two crowns that are placed on adjacent teeth. An artificial tooth known as a pontic is then used to replace one or two teeth in a row.

Dental crowns are essentially replacements for the enamel that surround the crown (the exposed area) of the tooth. This not only improves the tooth’s look but also strengthens it.

How Much Does a Smile Makeover Cost?

Since each smile makeover treatment plan will be unique to the needs of each patient, so too will the cost vary from patient to patient. If you are considering a smile makeover, Pure Dental Arts can help you

The number of visits needed to create your smile will vary depending on the procedures chosen and the status of your oral health.

Treatment Options Based on Condition

Do you have a specific cosmetic concern you would like to address with your smile makeover? Read on to see some of the most common requests.

Discolored and stained teeth. One of the most common reasons patients seek a smile makeover is due to stained and/or discolored teeth that do not respond well to professional teeth whitening. The cause of treatment-resistant stains is usually due to a combination of thinning enamel and deep, untreatable stains caused by medications such as antibiotics. To cosmetically correct stained teeth, we may recommend porcelain or composite veneers. We will evaluate your condition to determine if professional-strength whitening can help.

Crooked teeth. You may be surprised to learn that getting braces isn’t the only way to confront crooked teeth. One option is Invisalign® clear aligners. These are clear trays that are used to push teeth into alignment. Another option to correct crooked teeth is through the use of porcelain or composite veneers.

Silver fillings. Not so long ago, silver and other metallic fillings were the only surefire way to fill a cavity. That is no longer the case. You may not realize it, but silver fillings are actually quite noticeable when you speak (especially fillings along the lower jaw). Fortunately, those mercury-containing fillings can be replaced with metal-free composite fillings that can be tinted to perfectly match the color of your teeth!

Gaps between teeth. There are actually several ways to treat gaps between teeth. Diastema can be treated through the use of orthodontics or Invisalign® to close the gap. Alternatively, porcelain or composite veneers can be placed to eliminate the perceived gap between teeth.

Chipped teeth. If you have a tooth that has become chipped, your treatment options will largely involve either porcelain or composite veneers. If the dentist determines the tooth’s strength is compromised, they may recommend a dental crown.
